Katherine Anderson
Founder & Psychotherapist

  • Masters of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling with a Specialization in Dance/Movement Therapy

  • LPC #82623

  • R-DMT #2475

Katherine came to be a therapist after she could not get enough of learning about psychology and philosophy in her undergraduate studies at Quinnipiac University. It was during her undergraduate years that she learned of dance/movement therapy and realized that there was a profession that incorporated her long-term love of dance with her new found love of psychology. It was not a surprise to anyone near to her that she landed on this path, and it felt natural to pursue mental health counseling and how movement can be incorporated into healing. Katherine furthered her studies through graduate school at Lesley University where she received her Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling with a specialization in Dance/Movement Therapy. Katherine has a diverse background in mental health care that includes emergency psychiatric care, residential treatment at a center for eating disorders, and outpatient therapy clinics. It is through her education and experience that she is able to provide her clients with comprehensive mental health care.

As a Licensed Professional Counselor and Registered Dance/Movement Therapist, Katherine is passionate about supporting her clients in living their best lives. Katherine approaches therapy through a person-centered, strengths based perspective. Her methods include DBT, ACT, CPT, dance/movement therapy as well as other creative arts intervention. Katherine seeks to assist individuals in connecting with their inner voice through exploring how the mind and body communicate with one another and with the world around them. Her innovative techniques allow her clients to process difficult emotions, promote healing, rejuvenation, and transformation. Her experience has resulted in positive outcomes for adolescents, young adults and adults. Katherine recognizes that there is no one correct way to walk through life, and she is there to support you in your unique journey.

Outside the office Katherine loves to spend time with her family, friends, and dog! She spends her time outside of work going to new restaurants, going for walks with her family and pup, and traveling any time that she gets the chance. When at home she loves to cook and try out new recipes. On a typical night she likes to kick back and relax by watching movies, a new TV show, reading or playing video games and at other times you never know when a surprise dance party or karaoke night might pop up!
